Patsy Hufham Hughes, age 85, went to be with her Heavenly Father on July 5, 2017 when she passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack. Patsy was born on February 4, 1932 in Birmingham, AL to Eugene C. and Ruth Iris Hufham. She graduated from Ramsay High School and attended Auburn University where she was a Glomerata Beauty and Miss "A" Day. She was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Gene Ricketts (Don); daughter, Leslie Fadely Pettus; grandson, Byron Keith Buescher, Jr. She is survived by her husband, John F. Hughes; daughter, Rebecca Fadely Harris (Donovan); grandchildren, Brooke Vescovo (Peter), Leah Gibson (Matt) and David Buescher (Ashley); great grandchildren, Peter, Bennett and Laura Vescovo, Henry, Sam and Jack Gibson; niece, Sally Davenport (Larry); nephews, Drew Ricketts (Jan) and Thomas Ricketts (Jenn); the children of her husband, Tracey Barber (Rick) and Gary Hughes (Melanie). The family will receive friends on Monday, July 10, 2017 from 1-2 p.m. at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home with a celebration of her life to follow at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to First Presbyterian Church, Trussville, AL; 2107 Gadsden Hwy.
