Roy was born in Alabama and attended school there until he was 14. He then moved to Detroit, Michigan. Roy joined the United States Air Force, obtained his GED and military training. Roy served during the Korean and Vietnam Eras. Roy often went on temporary duty (TDY). He was in Germany, Korea, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, Japan, Vietnam, all sorts of places.

Roy was injured and retired from the Air Force. He went back to Detroit and worked for the county, first as a child care worker and then on a golf course.

He came to Denver, Colorado because of Fitzsimmons Army Hospital and rented an apartment by Lowry Air Force Base. He worked various part time jobs and went to school at Community College of Denver. He also worked at the Denver Federal Center.

Roy met his widow and they dated off and on for eight years. They married and they lived in east Denver for 31 years. Roy volunteered at the Denver VA Medical Center for over 20 years with over 5,000 hours. When dealing with situations including the government, family, just life in general, Roy always said: "When you've done your very best let go and give it to God."

A better husband, family member, acquaintance is hard to find.

In Loving Memory of a fine man.
