Susie May Watson, 80, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Mosaic Life Care hospital.

She was born June 30, 1937, in St. Joseph.

She worked at Holiday Inn as a room attendant, and at the Tenderloin on the Avenue.

Susie was preceded in death by: mother, Lydia VanVolkenburg; father, Walter Stufflebean; first husband, Lee Roy Meinecke; second husband, Harry R. Watson; sons, Glen H. Meinecke, Harry Richard Watson; brothers, Floyd T. Stufflebean, Clarence Ervin Stufflebean; half brother, Raymond VanVolkenburg; grandson, Danny L. Watson; great-grandson, Matthew Watson.

Survivors include: sons, Bob (Crystal) Watson, John Watson, David Jenkins, Mike Meinecke; daughters, Brenda VanVolkenburg, Sarah A. Gibson; brothers, Bill E. (Patty) Stufflebean, Larry Stufflebean and Lee Roy Stufflebean; half sister, Ernestine Forrest; 14 grandchildren, 14 great- grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services and interment will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2017, at the Memorial Park Cemetery,

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Friday, at the Rupp Funeral Home.

Memorials are requested to the American Cancer Society or the Susie May Watson Memorial Fund, in care of the Rupp Funeral Home.
