DOERUN, Ga. -- Mr. Johnny Lee Daniels, Jr., 68, entered into rest on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Pruitt Healthcare Nursing Home in Moultrie, Georgia.

Funeral service was at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 15, 2017 at First African Baptist Church in Doerun, Georgia. Interment followed in the Doerun City Cemetery.

Johnny was born on May 15, 1949 in Worth County, Georgia, to the late John Daniels and the late Doretha "Dorothy" Daniels Coe.

He was employed for many years with the Georgia Department of Transportation.

He was a member of Beulah Grove Baptist Church.

Johnny enjoyed spending time with his family; watching sports especially the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons and the Colquitt County Packers; and he especially loved attending the Packer Football games with his brother-in-law, Virgil Banks.

He graduated from William Bryant High School Class of 1968.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Franklin Aranaha; and a loving grandmother, Mattie Sumlin, who reared him in a loving Christian home.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories, friend and former spouse of 21 years, Zell Banks Daniels; two daughters, Rowena Daniels and Lovely Daniels, all of Doerun, Georgia; two brothers, Willie Daniels and Wayne (Mary) Daniels, both of Doerun, Georgia; five sisters, Jackwylin (James) Davis of Daytona, Florida, Belinda Gail Daniels and Gwendolyn (Tyrone) Cook, both of Fort Pierce, Florida, Nina Faye Shelton of Atlanta, Georgia, and Angela Brimm of Cairo, Georgia; step-mother, Ruth Daniels; special uncle, Willie James "Uncle Billy" Sumlin; special aunt, Jessie "Aunt Bird" Sumlin and mother-in-law, Thelma Banks; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Final arrangements were entrusted to Luke Strong And Son Mortuary, Ltd.
