Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Herman C. Vernon and son, Jerry P. Vernon; sister, Edythe Williams; and brothers, Ray, Aubrey and Tracy Delancy Boyd.
She is survived by her son, Dr. James B. Vernon (Nancy); daughter-in-law, Peggy Vernon; 6 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens-West. Visitation 2-8 p.m. Friday.
