Shelby Clayton Johnson was born in Taylor, Texas on December 5, 1937 and went to meet his Lord & Savior on March 18, 2021 at the age of 83.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Carolyn Joyce Anderson Johnson, his 4 children, Truman Clayton Johnson, Tracy Renee Johnson, Terrell Keven Johnson & Tricia Christine Hughes, 2 daughters-in-law, 1 son-in-law, 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and countless family members and friends.

He passed peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones.

He was born to Gus and Evelyn Johnson and raised on their farm between Hutto and Georgetown, Texas.

He married the love of his life on June 15, 197 then moved to Austin in 1959 where he went to barber college.

He was a barber for 59 years at his shop, "Clayton's Hairstyles" until he retired at the age of 79.

Throughout his life he was always highly active in church, He sang in the choir, served as an usher and was on the cemetery board. He loved polka dancing with Carolyn, playing dominoes & spending time with his family.

Clayton was a loyal husband, excellent father and an incredibly special man in general. he had a huge impact on everyone he met. His sense of humor and genuine love of life gave color, music and light to all he encountered.

He was loved in life and will be missed in death.

Visitation will be Friday, March 26, 2021 from 5:00p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Austin Peel and Son Funeral Home. Services will be held at the Austin Oaks Church, 4220 Monterey Oaks Blvd, Austin, TX 78749 on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 11:00a.m. with a graveside service to follow at the Evangelical Free Church Cemetery on C.R. 110 in Georgetown, Texas.
