William “Bill” Ernest Peterson was born on June 10, 1939 in Muscatine, the son of William L. and Doris M. (Phillips) Peterson. Bill graduated from Wilton High School in 1957 and also graduated from Iowa State University in 1961. Bill was united in marriage to Martha Flynn on August 8, 1964 in Milton, Massachusetts. Bill proudly served in the United States Army. He enjoyed bridge, golf, biking, traveling and was a member of the Lions Club.
Bill will be missed by his wife, Martha Peterson of Nichols; three children, Mary Ellen Saltzman (Todd) of Lone Tree, Laura Jardine (James) of Davenport and Sean F. Peterson (Amber) of Derby, Kansas; four grandchildren, Nicholas Saltzman, Ellen Jardine, Alex Jardine and Natalie Peterson; three siblings, Alice Orr of Columbus Junction, Lewis Peterson of Nichols and Arlene Buckman of Muscatine.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Ellen Hoag.
