Gerald "Jerry" Wayne Norton, 81, of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017, in St. Joseph.
He was born September 3, 1935, in Falls City, Nebraska.
He retired from the St. Joseph Fire Department as a fireman after 38 years of service. He also owned a tree service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and gardening.
Jerry was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Jerry Norton Jr.; brother, Bill Norton; and sister, Ann Tull.
Survivors include: four daughters, Melinda (Jeff) Magers, Laurie Norton, Becky (Curt) McCumber, and Rhonda (Kenny) Helsel; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Alvin Norton.
He will be cremated under the care and direction of the Rupp Funeral Home.
There are no scheduled services at this time.
