Mrs. Cordella Rae Goforth Blakley, 86, of 714 Oak Summit Road, died Thursday June 10, 1999 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was born Oct. 2, 1912 in Wilkes County to Grant and Jane Baker Goforth. Mrs. Blakley was the widow of Fox A. Blakley who died in October, 1996. Mr. and Mrs. Blakley operated Blakley Plumbing Company for many years. Surviving is a son, Thomas L. Blakley and his wife, Catherine of Winston-Salem; two daughters, Mrs. Marshall (Carolyn B.) Miller of Winston-Salem and Mrs. Fred E. (Rachel B.) Lewis III of Mt. Airy; two granddaughters, Mrs. David (Wendy B.) Smith and Lynn Blakley also of Winston-Salem; three grandsons, Kevin Blakley, Winston-Salem, Lou Lewis and wife, Lori, and Russ Lewis of Wilmington, NC; one sister, Mrs. Jeannie Keys of Winston-Salem; and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Viola B. Williams of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday, June 12, 1999 at Vogler Reynolda Road Chapel by Rev. Glenn Messer. Interment will follow at at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7-9pm Friday at the funeral home. The family asks that memorials be made to First Church of the Nazarene, 4555 Shattalon Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27106 or to New Hope Methodist Church, 5125 Shattalon Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
