Born in Louisville, he was a self-employed Engineer, and a US Navy veteran of World War II. Charlie was a graduate of St. Xavier High School and a Chemical Engineer graduate of the U of L Speed Scientific School. He was the 1998 Reform Party candidate for US Senate and a long-time member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Charlie is survived by his wife of 63 years, two sons, and three grandchildren.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2012 at St. Francis of Assisi, 1960 Bardstown Road, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.
