Luke Robertson Mask, Jr., age 69, near Libertytown, died Sunday, July 9, 2017 at his home. Born March 9, 1948 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Luke R. Mask Sr. and Marjorie Kenny Mask Alder. He was the husband of Betty Jo Loughry Mask, his wife of 46 years.
Mr. Mask served in the U.S. Navy from 1967–1973. He was the owner/operator of Design Fabricators, a heating and air conditioning company, near Libertytown. Luke was a member of Cross Life Bible Church, Taylorsville. He always placed more importance on investing in lives rather than in things and was dedicated to his family. His hobbies were boating, fishing, hunting, guns, four-wheeling, building, and creating fun times with his family.
In addition to his wife he is survived by children, Jennifer and Mark Baldwin of Shepherdstown, WV, Angie and Michael Knight of Lexington Park, Monica and Chris Rogers of Havre de Grace, Carrie Mask and Mike Morrison of Fairfield, PA, Stacy and Mike Picarella and Wendy Mask and Tim Murray, all of Thurmont and Annette and J.T. Tyeryar of Sabillasville; 35 grandchildren, sisters, Georgie and Bill Bray of Reisterstown, Debbie and Audie Gamble of Baltimore and Diane and Wayne Pickle of Abingdon and a brother, Danny Mask of Reisterstown. He was predeceased by a son, Philip A. Mask in 2004, a brother, William Ernst and those angels we couldn’t rock in our arms.
A funeral service will be held at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Rd., Libertytown, at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, with Pastor Quint Merson, officiating. Interment will follow in Fairmount Cemetery, Libertytown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 12 noon until time of service.
