World War II∼Charles H. "Chuck" Dietrich, 88, of Sandusky, died Sunday evening, July 7, 2013, in Providence Care Center, Sandusky, following a lengthy illness.
He was born Sept. 17, 1924, in Sandusky and was a 1942 graduate of Sandusky High School. Chuck was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II. He was owner and operator of Dietrich Motor Sales in Sandusky prior to his retirement.
Charlie was a race car enthusiast, having owned many race cars and driving them for many years. He was a member of Sports Car Club of America, where he held the honorary No. 1 license. He was also a member of Road Racers Drivers Club.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, the former Jane Kishler; one daughter, Holly (John) Liles, of Huron; one granddaughter, Sarah Bickley, of New York; and one brother-in-law, Jim (Mary) Kishler of Newark, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. and Elizabeth (Wagner) Dietrich Sr.
At the request of the deceased, cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
