Paul Philip Conner, 59, of Bannerville passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center in Palatka following a brief illness.
Paul was born at home in Federal Point and had lived for most of his life in Bannerville. He had been employed as Plant Manager of the former Georgia Pacific Chip and Saw Mill in Palatka and at the Palatka Daily News as Circulation Director. He enjoyed crabbing and fishing. His grandchildren were very special to him.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Albert and LaVerne Conner; two brothers, Wayne Conner and Robert Conner; and three sisters, Patsy Wingate, Darlene Bowen and Maryann Conner.
Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Janelle Roberts Conner of Bannerville; two sons and daughter-in-law, Michael and Laura Hobgood of Palatka, and Jay Strickland of Hollister; three brothers, Jimmy Conner of Palatka, J.R. Conner of Jasper, and Mark Conner of Bannerville; five grandchildren, Matthew Hobgood (Betty Parfait) of Bannerville, Bryan Hobgood of Augusta, GA, Taylor Carpenter of Hollister, Wyatt Strickland of Hollister, and Alyssa Strickland of Hollister; a great granddaughter, Sophia Parfait; and numerous nieces and nephews including Shawn and Mandy Conner.
Friends may call at Masters Funeral Home of Palatka from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday (today), June 8, 2017. Graveside funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 9 at Etoniah Cemetery in Bardin with Pastor Rudy Howard officiating.
