Larry Jay Fitzgerald, son of Arthur Fitzgerald and Lavina Maxine (Fulmer) Fitzgerald was born July 7, 1940, at the family home in Rural Clarke County, Iowa, near Truro. He passed from this life Thursday, July 6, 2017 at his home in Sun Lakes, Arizona at 76 years of age.


Larry grew up on a farm near Truro. He graduated from Truro High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967 during the Viet Nam War. Following his honorable discharge he returned to the Truro area, he used his accounting training and worked at Delavan Manufacturing in Des Moines. He was united in marriage to Sharon Lynne Townsend on April 25, 1969 at the Truro Methodist Church and shortly after their marriage he began farming full time.


He enjoyed farming and being outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and family, kids and grandkids. Larry was a member of the Angler's Club in Arizona.


Those relatives who preceded Larry in death were his parents, Maxine and Arthur Fitzgerald.
