He was born to A.D. Murray and Willie Jo Perry Murray. He had lived in Palestine for 40 years and was retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a Field Sergeant at the Coffield Unit. Mr. Murray loved the Lord and was a member and Elder of Christ Community Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and working in his yard. He also liked hunting, fishing, camping and caring for his dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a great granddaughter, Paysen Sperry.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Suaette Murray; daughters, Lisa Vickery, Lori Morrow and Lynn Goolsby (Matt); brotherm Randy Murray; sisters, Glenda Shields (Freddy), and Brenda Fontenot; 8 grandchildren, Jenna Brumley, Brenna Sperry, Michael W. Vickery, Heather Morrow, Haylee Morrow, Corbin Wall, Caden Wall and Traylon Goolsby; 4 great grandchildren and other extended family.
