Louis Jay Parker, 63, of Teton City passed away at his home on July 9, 2017, from a neurological disorder known as Multiple Systems Atrophy. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing.

Louis was born December 24, 1953 to Louis LaMoyne and Karen Williams Parker of Teton City, Idaho. He had four sisters, Nola Jensen of Teton, Debbie (Jose) De Los Reyes of Chubbuck, Connie (Sven) Ottesen of Teton, Cherrol(Jack) Chiles of Rexburg, and one brother Bryon (Becky) Parker of Sugar City.

He attended school in Teton and St. Anthony graduating from South Fremont High School in 1973. He also graduated from Eastern Idaho Vo-tech in the welding program. He married Eileen SiddowayinApril of 1981. They have lived their entire married life in Teton. They had their first child a son, Louis Jordan in 1984 and their second, a daughter, Morgan in 1986 making their family complete.

He grew up on a farm with all the opportunities farm life can afford. He was not afraid of hard work and encouraged that quality in his children. After finishing at the Vo-tech Louis worked at Idaho Steel in Idaho Falls and then came back home to farm with his father and brother in Teton. He also worked many places during the winter when not farming.

He enjoyed ice fishing, hunting birds, shooting trap, and participating annually at the Mud Lake Lions Club Turkey Shoot. He also loved playing pool, pinochle and pitch at Russell’s (Goe-C-Goe’s). He had a definite love for pyrotechnics making the 4th of July his favorite holiday and was fortunate enough to see them one last time. Louis also enjoyed traveling with his wife and children to many places throughout the United States and Mexico.

His greatest joy was being called “Papa” by his nine grandchildren. They were the light of his life and will miss him tremendously.

Louis is survived by his wife, Eileen, of Teton; and two children, Jordan (Krista) Parker and their 4 children, Madilyn, Logan, Jaxon, and Mikayla, of Teton; Morgan (Shane) French and their 5 children, Macey, Hannah, Kloe, Walker, and Parker of Rigby.

He is preceded in death by his father, LaMoyne Parker, Grandparents, Louis Parker, and Joe Geneva Briggs, and Jay and Phoebe Williams,father-in-law Grant Siddoway, a brother-in-law Dale Jensen, a sister-in-law Treena Caverhill, and two nephews Skip Ottesen and Angel De Los Reyes.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you “Pay it forward” for Louis. Buy someone a drink, lunch, a tank of gas…whatever. Helping people is the way he lived his life and it’s what he would have wanted.
