Billy E. (Army) Armstrong, age 73, of Auburn passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Mr. Armstrong was born on June 20, 1944 in Auburn to Buford and Susana (Conley) Armstrong.

He married Cathy Cobler in Auburn on December 21, 1963. She resides in Auburn.

Mr. Armstrong spent his career working as a truck driver. Over the years he worked for County Line Cheese in Auburn, Chapman’s in Butler, Bowman and Albright in Waterloo, Vulcraft in St. Joe, New Millennium in Butler and Steel Dynamics in Butler. He also owned Armstrong and Son Transportation for many years.

He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed fishing, attending antique semi-tractor shows and spending time with his family.

Survivors include: His wife, Cathy Armstrong of Auburn; Daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Stan Surfus of Auburn; Son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Tammy Armstong of Fort Wayne; Granddaughter, Brooke Surfus of Auburn; Grandsons, Stanley and Randi Surfus of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin; Brandyn Surfus of Watertown, Wisconsin; Bryan Day of Fort Wayne; Rick Day of Fort Wayne; Two great granddaughters, KayLynn Thomas of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin and Kaeann Maston of Albion, Indiana; Two sisters; Carroll Jean Stafford of Ashley and Diane Armstrong of Bedford, Indiana; Brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Connie Armstrong of Auburn; Brother-in-law, John Cobler of Rome City.

Preceded in death by his parents, brother; Dale Armstrong and sister; Barbara Park.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.

Additional visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Auburn.

Burial will be at the Cedar Creek Cemetery in Garrett.

Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Dale Stoops of the Indian Village Church of God in Auburn.

Memorials may be directed to the Indian Village Church of God, 602 Erie Pass, Auburn, Indiana 46706 and the DeKalb County Humane Society, 5221 US 6, Butler, Indiana 46721.
