Lloyd Gene Freeman, 70, resident of Sikeston, died June 9, 2014 at his home. He was born February 16, 1944 in Greenville, Mississippi to the late Jesse Freeman and Johnnie Felton.

He was a member of Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston and retired from General Motors after 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Freeman of Pontiac, Michigan, six sons and five daughters-in-law, Demetrious Levell Freeman (Tessa) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Tracy Dion Freeman of Little Rock, Arkansas, Montez Tyrone Freeman (Evelynbibi) of Pontiac, Donald Tassin of Houston, Texas, Bryant Tassin (Tina) and Jonathan Tassin (Tonya) of Pontiac, four daughters and three sons-in- law, Angela Battles (Walter) of Nashville, Tennessee, Tonja Harris (Jahsan) of Kansas City, Kansas, Dinah Tassin, and Sharon Tassin Jennings (Malaffeon) of Pontiac, two brothers, Lynn Felton and Johnl Washington of Springfield, Missouri, and 8 sisters, Mary Madison, Jessie Freeman, Viola Holivay, Tanya Felton, Willie Mae Butler and Cleotha Washington all of Sikeston, Missouri, Catherine Bratcher of Decatur, Illinois, and Martha Townsend of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour of 2:00 P.M. at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston with Pastor Arthur Cassell officiating. Interment will follow immediately after in Sunset of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
