Ruth E. Gage, 76, of Goffstown, NH, passed away Friday July 7, 2017 at Catholic Medical Center of Manchester, NH, surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born December 9, 1940 in Manchester and was the daughter of the late Eugene L. and Kathleen M. (Conant) Hoitt. She was raised and educated in Goffstown and was a lifelong resident.
Ruth was employed for many years as the accountant for the Town of Goffstown and later as the Office Manager for Happy House Amusements of Goffstown. She was very involved in the local and state Democratic party and was a NH State representative from Goffstown for several terms. Ruth was a devoted NE sports fan and a NASCAR fan as well as an avid crafter. She was also a lover of animals of all kinds but her greatest love was her family. Ruth will forever be remembered as a "Mom to all" and "Bama" to most. She loved spending time with her beloved children and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as two nephews and many cousins.
Members of the family include her daughters, [Redacted] A. Gage and [Redacted] S. Sullivan and her husband [Redacted], her son [Redacted] S. Gage and his wife [Redacted], all of Goffstown, Seven grandchildren, [Redacted], [Redacted], [Redacted] ([Redacted]) Gagnon, [Redacted], [Redacted] ([Redacted]) Loveren, [Redacted], and [Redacted] and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years, Edward S. Gage in 2008, and by her brother Thomas Hoitt in 2002.
After cremation, calling hours will be held Wednesday July 12, 2017 from 5 to 8 pm at the French and Rising Funeral Home, 17 South Mast St. in Goffstown. A Celebration of her life will be held Thursday, the 13th in the funeral home and will conclude with burial at Shirley Hill Cemetery of Goffstown.
