Gregory Mark Helton passed away at UAB Hospital on Saturday, July 1, 2017, at the age of 54.
Helton is preceded in death by his parents, Ollie Helton and Mary Helton of Rainsville.
Helton was born in California on Feb. 7, 1963. He graduated from Plainview High School. He was a Luthier (instrument repairer) until the time of his death.
He enjoyed an array of hobbies and activities, including kayaking, dirt track racing, rock climbing, horseback riding, playing guitar, mandolin and banjo. He also enjoyed taking care of his land and horses and riding his big blue tractor. He was a member of the Back Forty Cowboy Church and No Excuses Saddle Club.
