Thelma Blanche Benson, 92, of Aurora, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at Provena Mercy Medical Center. She was born December 11, 1914 in Iola, Kansas, daughter of the late William Henry and Cora Belle (Nill) Harris.

Thelma was a devoted Christian. She was a member of Park Place Baptist Church for 40 years. Thelma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Survivors include her husband of 70 years, John Benson of Aurora; twin daughters, Carolyn (John) Shriber of Montgomery and Marilyn Wig of Ottawa; grandchildren, Rebecca (Michael) Price of Aurora and their children, Andrew and Brittany, Greg Long of Montgomery and Melissa (Dwayne) Goetsch of Ottawa and their children, Adam, Matthew and Amy and many nieces and nephews.

Thelma was preceded in death by a son, John Robert Benson; brothers, Guy, Gerald, Kenneth and Wilbur Harris; and sisters, Geneva Murphy and Georgia Shiblom.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 22, 2006 from 12 PM until the service hour of 1 PM at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Place, Aurora. Private family interment will be at Lincoln Memorial Park.
