Lizzie Leona Martin Hickox, of Hortense, Ga passed away on July 9, 2017, at the age of 61 years.
She was born in Blackshear Ga, on October 21, 1955. She married Roy Lee Hickox on October 25, 1972. She spent her life being a wonderful wife to her husband and a loving mother to their four children.
Lizzie had a kind heart, always putting the interests of others over her own, sometimes excessively. She was a caregiver, assisting others in need whether they were family or friends. She loved her family with all her heart, spending time with them and helping in any way possible. She was so very proud of her children. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee (1996) and Carolyn Martin (2000), and a granddaughter, Brittany Marie Daniels (1995).
She is remembered and will be dearly missed by her husband, Roy; two daughters, Carolyn Hayden and her husband Matthew, and Elizabeth Hickox; two sons, Roy Hickox and his wife, Karen, and Robert (R.J.) Hickox; Two sisters, Joyce Sutton and her husband Jimmy, and Jewell Landeros; two brothers, Robert Lee Martin and his wife, Diana and Howard Martin; 14 Grandchildren and their spouses, Steven Harris and his wife Lisa, Kayla Johns and her husband Austen, Ollie Harris, Harold (Pepper) Bargeron III, Bailey Walker, Savannah Hickox, T.J. Nixon, Cody Nixon, Adam Rowe, David Rowe, Brittany Rowe, Madison Crane, Sara Beth Head, and Autumn Hickox; 9 great grandchildren, Eli Johns, Raelyn Harris, Landen Harris, Liannah Harris, Ellianah Harris, Trinity Capps, Jayden Chancey, Wesley Rowe, and Trinity Rowe.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening (July 12, 2017) starting at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home.
A Graveside service will be held Thursday morning (July 13, 2017) at 11AM with Rev. Ronnie Sharpe and Rev. Charles Florey officiating.
Burial will follow in High Bluff Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA.31525.
