C. Edward Bietsch, 87, of 409 S. Main St., died Saturday evening at his home unexpectedly following a heart attack. He had just returned home from visiting a neighbor when he was stricken.

Born Oct. 13, 1878, in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Philip and Elizabeth Sophia Finniff Bietsch. He was Lutheran by faith.

During his early life, he worked at a tinner, and was later employed by the former Wolf Co., for many years until his retirement.

He was a member of Good Will Fire Co. for 74 years and in his 62nd year was treasurer of the organization.

Mr. Bietsch was the last of him immediate family and is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Sellers Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul B. Lucas officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
