Luther Green Bennett had a twin sister, and they were the 2nd and 3rd children born to Allen Lafayette Bennett and Georgia Alva Williams. He was born Sep 25, 1872 in Pocahontas, Randolph Co., AR. Allen and Georgia had 7 children - 3 daughters and 4 sons. Luther married Lura Ethel Bailey in 1896 in Carter, Indian Territory. Together they had 6 children - 5 daughters and 1 son.

In 1880 Luther is in Eastland Co., TX with his mother and 3 of his siblings. Georgia states that she is a widow, but there are 4 siblings born after this census. I have not been able to find out where Allen was during this time. This has always been a mystery to me. In 1900 Luther is in Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory with his wife, 2 of their children and his brother Joseph Gray Bennett. He is a farm laborer - general farming.

In 1910 he is in Garvin Co., OK with his wife and their 5 children and an aunt of his wife's. He has been married 13 years, there have been 5 children born and all 5 are living and he is engaged in general farming. In 1920 Luther is in Pottawatomie Co., OK with his wife and their 5 children and is engaged in general farming. In 1930 he is in Comanche Co., OK with his wife and 2 of his children. He was 24 when he was first married and he is a farmer.

Luther registered for the draft during the WWI registration on Sep 12, 1912 at the age of 45. Luther died Nov 6, 1930 at Faxon, Comanche Co., OK.

Luther is my 2nd Great Uncle.
