Raymond Chadwick “Chad” Shipley age 46 of Dayton died early Friday morning, July 7, 2017 due to injuries he suffered in an auto accident.

He was born in Chattanooga on November 14, 1970 and lived all his life in Dayton. Chad was an employee with the City of Dayton water department and had been previously employed with La-Z-Boy. He loved boats and boating, fishing, UT Vols, NASCAR and had attended New Union Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Sami (Tony) Butler of Dayton, his mother, June (Rodney) Green of Soddy Daisy and his father, Larry (Angie Rice) Shipley of Dayton. He is also survived by his three grandsons Braxton Butler, Brayden Butler and Brantley Butler, his grandmother, Ruth White of Dayton, niece Lexie Shipley along with numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. Chad was preceded in death by his brother, Brandon Shipley, grandfather Raymond Shipley and grandmother Ruth Lee Hixson.

Funeral services for Chad will be held Sunday evening at 7:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Danny Ruehling officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his brother Brandon in Rhea Memory Gardens.

The family is being cared for by the Vanderwall Funeral Home where they will receive friends after 5:00pm.
