Mrs. Schnell was born November 7, 1931, in Clay County, the daughter of Manfred and Dorothy Boston Allphin. She married Paul Courson, Jr. in 1949. She later married Norman Miles "Jack" Schell November 29, 1969.
She was a homemaker and member of Meacham Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Ronald, Terry, and Vernon Courson; two step sons, Jack and Dennis Schell; one daughter, Brenda Kay Durham; two step-daughters, Linda Stinson and Billye Young; two sisters, Hazel Garrett and Beatrice Allphin; ten grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Funeral services were held at Neal Funeral Home with burial in Oskaloosa Cemetery.
