Michael K. Root, 51, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2017 after a tragic accident at his Fremont home. He was born to Kenneth and Gloria (Hampshire) Root on December 21, 1965 in Fremont, Ohio.

In 1984 Mike graduated from Fremont Ross High School. He worked at Moore Business forms, and after a brief stint at National Machinery in Tiffin, he returned to Moore Business Forms that eventually became Glatfelter Papers.

Mike was a hobbyist, a master craftsman, and especially enjoyed machining. He was an artful machinist known to have built and collect toy tractors, and restore antique Oliver and White Tractors. He was also a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

Mike is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Gloria Root; brother, Gary (Michelle) Root; sister, Wendy Root; nephew, Josh (Dee) Root; niece, Sara Root; grand-nieces, Carlee Root and Kaylin Erdman; and grand-nephew, Xander Erdman.

He is preceded in death by an infant brother, Todd; grandparents, Marian & Frank Hampshire, and Donald & Marvel Root.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont where Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, at 11 a.m. Rev. Bob Young will officiate. Burial will follow at Four Mile House Cemetery.
