Edward Alton "Robbie" Robertson, son of the late Oatley Jay Alton Robertson and Fannie Marie Jane Davis Robertson, was born in Lavalle, Missouri on February 24, 1937 and departed this life at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on July 6, 2017 at the age of 80.

Mr. Robertson was a United States Air Force Veteran, having retired from Military Service after 22 years. He then served his community as a Police Officer in Bernie, Malden and Wayne County, and later worked as a Truck Driver until his retirement. He was a member of American Legion of Malden, Missouri. He enjoyed yard work and gardening and was a member of Bernie General Baptist Church.

He was united in marriage to Hester Lou Edwards in St. Louis, Missouri on May 23, 1962. Mrs. Robertson preceded her husband in death on January 7, 2017.

Survivors include one son, Marcus Eric Robertson of Bernie, Missouri; one daughter, Melanie Elaine Gonia and Husband Ben of Plover, Wisconsin; by three grandchildren, Michelle Robertson, Marcus Robertson Jr. and Starla Williams; by two great-grandchildren, Kristopher and Khaleesi; by one sister, Gracie Williams of Imperial, Missouri; also by other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death other than by his parents and his wife, by one son, Michael Edward Robertson in 1996; by three brothers, Charles Robertson, Freddie Robertson and Louis Robertson.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday Afternoon, July 9, 2017 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Steve Fitzpatrick officiating. Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
