L.D. Silvey, 90, of Bolivar, MO. passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Parkview Care Facility in Bolivar, MO. He was born June 3, 1927, in Seymour, MO. to Luther B. and Opha A. (Painter) Silvey.
On July 21, 1946, he married Lois Y. Morris. they had two daughters and a son. They were married thirty-four years.
On August 9, 1981, he married Peggy Boone. They were very active members of First Baptist Church in Bolivar, MO., and enjoyed and supported Southwest Baptist Bearcat Basketball. At his retirement, L.D. was President of Commerce Bank, Bolivar, MO.
L.D. was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy on February 23, 2016; his son, Gregory: his parents; an infant sister; his brother Marvin; and his son-in-law Garey Hesselton.
L.D. is survived by his daughters Jana Hesselton; Gaytha Suits and husband David; his step son Tom Boone and wife Kathryn; his step-daughter Magda Neill and husband Joe; his step-grandchildren, Drew Boone and wife Whitney, Jennifer Hargis and husband Darin, Ryan Boone; and his step-great grandchildren, Alice, Liam and Amelia Boone; and his sister Norma Jean Porter; and many nieces, nephews, and many other family members.
Visitation will be at First Baptist Church in Bolivar, MO. on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. preceding the funeral services at 2:30 p.m. conducted by Pastors Dr. Ray Leininger, Dr. Billy Russell, and Dr. Bill Hooper. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery following the services.
David Suits, Joe Neill, Drew Boone, Darin Hargis, Ryan Boone and Eddie Lollar will be active pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fune or the charity of your choice.
