Arthur O. Olson 90, of Port Orange, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2017 at the Port Orange Hospice. He was born on December 25, 1926 in Ringwood, New Jersey, the son of the late Fabian and Edith Haglund Olson.
Arthur served in the United States Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1946. He married the former Nancy Anastazia Kanish in 1948 in Eagle Valley, New York.
Arthur was employed by Ramapo Valley Distributors in Suffern, New York and later with Letchworth Village Developmental Center in Thiells, New York. His interests consisted of hunting, fishing and playing cards.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, a blessed marriage of 69 years, his son Arthur F. (Melanie) Olson of Harris, New York and his daughter Nancy Lee (Leslie Frye) Olson of New Smyrna Beach, grandchildren Michelle Olson M.D. and David (Olivia Chesniak) Olson. Preceding Arthur in death were his brother Gunnar Olson and his sister Margit Johansson.
Services will be Saturday, July 8th at 11:00 AM from the Lohman Funeral Home 1201 Dunlawton Ave. Port Orange, including a viewing for family and friends on Friday, July 7th from 5-7 PM. Burial with Military Honors will follow the service at Daytona Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers please consider the American Heart Association or Saint Luke's Anglican Church of Port Orange.
