Patsy Raskob Bremer died peacefully at the age of 93 in Easton on May 2, 2013. She was born on Nov. 30, 1919, at "Archmere" in Claymont, Del. She was one of 13 children born to John J. and Helena S. Raskob.

When she was young, the family r elocated to Pioneer Point Farm in Centreville. It was there that Patsy developed her passion for sailing. In 1932 at the age of 12, she was the first female and youngest person to skipper a boat in the International Star Class Racing Association. She sailed in the 1932 World's Championship in Southport, Conn., and the 1933 World's in Long Beach, Calif. She continued to race her boat, Ripple, into the 1940s.

She attended the San Francisco College for Women. It was there that she met her future husband, M. Stephen Bremer. Together, they moved to Easton, and she called Peachblossom Creek her home for over 60 years. She proudly served as president and member of the Raskob Foundation for Catholic Activites, member of the Bill Raskob Foundation, on the board of Loyola University, Baltimore, Memorial Hospital at Easton and the Maryland Catholic Conference. She spent her life doing all she could to help others.

She was predeceased by her husband, M. Stephen Bremer; and an infant son, Stephen Patrick. She is survived by her sister, Mary Louise (Boo) Duffy; her children, William Bremer (Marti), Mary Howie, Anne Staley (Carl) and Robert Bremer (Stephany); 10 grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; four generations of nieces and nephews; and her ever-devoted friend, Marcella Thomas.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 10, and prayers will be offered at 7:45 p.m, at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home P.A., 200 S. Harrison St., Easton. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 1210 S. Washington St., Easton, MD 21601. Burial will be at St. Peter the Apostle Church Cemetery, Queenstown.
