Shawnee resident Georgia Katherine Stone, 90, died Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at her home. She was born January 9, 1927 in Kansas City, Kansas to James Vernon Fain and Bethel (Kenslow) Fain.

She attended Shawnee schools. In 1951 she married James O. Stone. She worked for 11 years at Sylvania as an inspector. She then spent a few years in the nursing field where she worked at the Broadway Hospital. She later worked as an inspector at Tinker Air Force Base where she retired. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, traveling, reading her bible, going to church and supported Word of Life Ministries.

Georgia was the most kind, caring, and loving person you could meet and she was loved by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and infant brother, and a son-in-law: Paul States.

Survivors include 2 Daughters: Karen States of Shawnee, and Elizabeth Blochowiak and husband Bob of Shawnee; 3 Grandchildren: Robyn McElroy and husband Randall of Bentonville, AR, Matthew Scholl of Fayetteville, AR, and Lori Blochowiak of Shawnee; 6 Great-Grandchildren, 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren, (and one on the way).

Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 7, 2017 at Tecumseh Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Curliss officiating.
