NEOGA - J.Morton Lindley, 84, of Neoga died at 12:33 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 5, 1988) at Mercy Hospital in Champaign.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the First Christian Church of Neoga with the Rev. Ron Lake officiating. Burial will be at the Neoga Memorial Cemeter. Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. today at the Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home in Neoga. The body will be taken to the church at noon Friday where friends may call one hour before the service.

He was born Feb. 19, 1903 in Shelby County, a son of Charles E. and Ida I. Baker Lindley. He married Nora Wright July 31, 1926, in Charleston. She survives.

Also surviving are five sons, Rex and Larry, both of Neoga, Jim and Jerry, both of Mattoon and Dan of Effingham; four daughters, Mrs. Bill (Letha) Smith of Danville, Mrs. Jerry (Mare) Humes of Westminster, California, Mrs. Kenny (Doris) Armbruster of Ontario, California and Mrs. Mike (Karla) Sylvester of Neoga; three sisters, Mary Lindley of Mattoon, Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) McMillan of Decatur and Mrs. Dale (Alene) Haverstock of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; 24 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

One son, four brother, two sisters and one grandson preceded him in death.

Mr. Lindley was a member of the First Christian Church of Neoga and was a retired railroader. He drove the Sunoco gas truck for several years and owned and operated Lindley's Union 76 station in Neoga.

Memorials may be made to the Heartland Christian Village in Neoga.
