Linda Elaine (Brown) Curtis, age 74, of Oakland, IL, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Newman Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Linda was born March 3, 1943 in Shadyside, OH to Charles and Elaine Brown. She married Jack Curtis in 1987 in Ashmore, IL, and he preceded her in death. Linda retired from the Michigan Social Services where she worked as a caseworker. She was a member of the Oak Grove Separate Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing. Linda had a very generous spirit and contributed to many charities.

She is survived by three children: Michael (Tammy) Vucelich of Rustburg, VA, Pamela (Mark) Baxter of Brocton, IL, and Sue Balch of Paris, IL; three brothers: Don Brown of Barnesville, OH, Bob Brown of South Carolina, and Tommy Brown of Shadyside, OH; fifteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son: Steven Vucelich.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Separate Baptist Church. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
