Ethel V. Russell, age 90, of Columbus, passed away October 13, 2016. She was born and raised in Dry Ridge, Kentucky. Member of Brown Road Community Church and of their Missionary Ladies Group, American Legion Pashall Post 164 in Grove City, and a 50 plus year member of Grove City OES Chapter No. 502. Ethel was a Certified Kentucky Colonel. She retired from South Western City Schools. In her career as a waitress, Ethel had a following that included Gov. James Rhodes at some of the more popular restaurants, Grandview Inn, Seafood Bay, Florentine, Western Pancake House, and Mohawk Grill to name just a few. She was an election poll volunteer worker for many years. Preceded in death by parents Anna Mae Copeland and James "Ted" Cordle, grandson Tim Casto, son-in-law Mark Borden, siblings Mary and Charles Cordle. Survived by children, Michael (Denise) Casto, Diane Borden, Nick (Deni) Russell, Tony (Pam) Russell, and David (Kathie) Russell; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren. Ethel raised and mentored two complete families, and did it with class. As Ethel said, " I had a good life". Family will receive friends Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 1-5 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St., where service will be held Monday 10 a.m. Pastor Tom Barker officiating. Interment to follow at Obetz Cemetery
