He was appointed postmaster at Bedford, served 1935-1945 and rural route carrier from 1949-1962. married 2 Feb 1921 to VADA B. WISE. Survived by wife, 1 dau. Lois Morgan, 4 sons, W. R., Leslie, Graham and Benny Abbott, a sis. Mrs. Pearl Clifford, a half-bro. Norman Abbott. Preceded by 2 sons, George Stanley Abbott age 21, on 30 Jul 1945 in Pacific Ocean during W.W.II, and Ronnie Eugene, age 4 mo in 1946.
