It is with great heartfelt sadness our family announce the passing of Eldena Burnett, a lifelong resident of Dallas, Texas, a beautiful daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Eldena was born on January 10th 1934 and she passed peacefully at the age of 83 in the loving arms of her daughter, Deanna, on June 24th 2017 at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska after a two year battle of stroke related complications.

Eldena was born to James Leslie and Minnie Mae Judkins (Meadows) in Van Alstyne, Texas. She was the youngest of six children. She attended school in Van Alstyne and at the age of 18 moved to Dallas, Texas to work for Rinehart Oil Company. She worked as an administrative and executive secretary for 52 years and retired from Guidestone Financial Services after 18 years of service in the ministry.

Eldena is preceded in death by her parents, James Leslie and Minnie Mae Judkins, her brother, Elmer Joe Judkins, her sister, Esta Lee Martin and her daughter, Deborah Faye Burnett.

Eldena is survived by her sister, Euna Fay Grissom, 92, her brother, Ewell “Billy” Judkins, 89, (Lometa Judkins), her sister, Pauline Grissom, 86, her daughter, Deanna Mae Casiano, (Juan Alberto Casiano), six grandchildren, Dustin James Washburn (Angeline Marie Washburn), Alexander Joseph (A.J.) Washburn, Lauren Rachel Scanlan (Cody James Scanlan), Caleb John Washburn, Emma Mary Washburn, Brandi Elizabeth Washburn, and three great granddaughters, Aleeyah Marie Scanlan, Isla Rey Patrice Washburn and Autumn Mae Scanlan.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, July 7th 2017 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243 and the funeral service is Saturday, July 8th 2017 at 11:00am in Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.

A graveside service will follow the funeral service at Van Alstyne Cemetery between 1:00pm-2:00pm where Eldena will be laid to rest with her daughter, Deborah Faye Burnett and beside her parents, James Leslie and Minnie Mae Judkins.
