Gregory Lawrence Watson, 61, of Belvidere, IL, died Sunday, July 2, 2017 as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was born February 15, 1956 in Belvidere, IL, the son of Carl L. and Jean M. (Seelow) Watson. Gregory was a 1974 graduate of North Boone High School. He married Eugenia R. O’Leary on July 14, 1984 in St. James Catholic Church in Belvidere, IL. Gregory was formerly employed by Ipsen Industries in Belvidere, IL and Arnold Engineering in Marengo, IL. He was currently working at Dean Foods in Belvidere, IL for the past 16 years. He was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association Chapter L in Illinois and Chapter A in Wisconsin. Gregory was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marengo, IL. Survivors include his wife, Gena Watson of Belvidere, IL; children, Brian Watson and Rebecca Watson both of Belvidere, IL; his parents, Carl and Jean Watson of Roscoe, IL; brothers and sisters, Juleen Elizabeth Watson of Simpsonville, NC, Thomas Andrew (Sue) Watson of Poplar Grove, IL, Randy Allen Watson of Belvidere, IL, Lois Marie Pfeifer of Machesney Park, IL, and Carla Jean (Adam) Morrison of Belvidere, IL; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Marjorie and Christine, and grandparents.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 620 Blackhawk Blvd, South Beloit, IL, with Fr. Steven Sabo officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Rosary recited at 5:30 p.m.
