Shavon Jamel Reid, age 15, Sunrise September 22, 2001 and Sunset May 20, 2017.

Shavon was a student at Columbus Alternative High School where he was on the Debate Team; he played football at Beechcroft High School and was accepted in the Fort Hay s Music Program and was a part of the Law and Leadership Institute at Capital University. Shavon worked at Donatos Pizza.

Shavon was talkative and made friends wherever he went. He was a wonderful listener to the problems of others in his wide circle of friends.

He loved to read and listen to music. Shavon was just starting to get into poetry. He stayed up to date on current events and was not afraid to ask questions and take on the challenge of a good debate. Shavon would have gone to UCLA or Stanford for his collegiate career.

Left to cherish his memory, mother, Tracy Anne Reid, father, Anthony Vermont Jackson; grandparents, Michael and Shirley Peebles; sisters Amanda Fortson, Brianna Reid, Jodi Black, Tonya Blevins, Kyshaila Jackson and DeMonta Jackson; brother, Mikai Redd, nieces Iyanna Fortson, Genesis Robertson, nephews Antonio Watson, Genuine Robertson, Elijah Black, uncle, David Peebles, aunts Angela Notice and Katrina Peebles and a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral held the afternoon of Thursday June 1 at the Rhema Christian Center in Columbus, Apostle La Fayette Scales was the officiating minister.
