Darlene graduated from Waterloo East High School, and had worked at Chamberlain Manufacturing Co., Waterloo, for 42 years.
She is survived by three sons, Graydon Leland of Iowa Falls, Darrell Leland of Waterloo and Kevin (Jan) Ives of Traer; two daughters, Sheryl Miles of Omaha, Arkansas, and Mary Ann Ives of Parkersburg; three stepsons, Rodney (Kathy) Payne of La Porte City, Pat (Missy) Payne of Waterloo and Donald (Vicki) Payne of Traer; a stepdaughter, Deborah Payne of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, LaVonne Coughron of Wills Point, Texas, and Schnoa (Richard) Hintzen of Rockford, Illinois.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bernard and Ted Lauzon; and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 31, at Ripley United Church of Christ, Traer, with burial in Buckingham Cemetery, rural Traer. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today, July 30, at Overton Funeral Home, Traer.
Darlene loved baking, sewing, quilting, gardening and canning. Most importantly, she enjoyed helping people however she could.
