Jo Ann Helen Hicks, age 74 of Dallas, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015.

She is survived by her husband Sam; her daughter Ann and her fiancé, Otis Hatcher; her son Tim and his wife Donna and their children Christopher and Elizabeth, all from the Dallas area. Also; her siblings John Liebsack and his wife Connie, Bill Liebsack and his wife Carol, her sister Margaret Sporleder and her husband Richard. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Elaine Liebsack of Omaha, Nebraska and her nephew Justin Sporleder of Nixa, Missouri.

Jo Ann earned an Associate in Arts degree and taught elementary school in Nebraska for three years. She married Sam in June 1962. The remaining years of her life were devoted to being a homemaker, an accomplished cross-stitcher and knitter. She accompanied her husband to Tokyo, Japan for five years. She served as Secretary of Ikebana International for three terms in Japan. She successfully completed the program and worked for Weight Watchers for three years.

Jo Ann was kind and warm to everyone she met. She was an active member of The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in Richardson.

A Memorial Service will be held at Church of the Epiphany at 10am, Tuesday, 7/21/15. A reception will follow in the Church Hall.

The family requests memorials be sent in Jo Ann's name to the Church of the Epiphany Onward Campaign at 421 Custer Road, Richardson, Texas 75080. Jo Ann was much loved and will be greatly missed.
