Merwyn Wyatt, age 85 of Superior has passed away on Thursday, July 6th at Bryan LGH Medical Center East in Lincoln.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior.

Burial will take place in the Hardy Cemetery.

Merwyn Dean Wyatt, the son of Joseph and Esther (Petersen) Wyatt, was born on December 23, 1931 in Superior, Nebraska. He passed away on July 6, 2017 at the Bryan LGH Medical Center East at Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 85 years, 6 months, 13 days.

Merwyn attended Hardy Public School graduating from Hardy High School. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Superior. On December 24, 1952 he was united in marriage to June Ardell Kinyoun at Hardy. This union was blessed with 6 daughters and a son.

Merwyn retired from Ideal Cement Plant after 36 years working various positions most recently as an electrician. He was a Volunteer Fireman for over 25 years, was a Mason and Eagles and Elks club member.

His hobbies included gardening and wood working; he was very handy and could figure out how to fix just about anything. He enjoyed playing cards, boating, camping, water skiing, including teaching others to ski, putting puzzles together, working crossword puzzles, reading, dancing and spending time with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Joe & George Wyatt; daughters Rebecca Wyatt and Virginia Vannice and son-in-law Ed Vannice.

Survivors include his wife June of Superior, Nebraska; daughters Sandra Manning and husband Les of Broken Bow, Nebraska; Karen Rhoads and husband Rick of Kearney, Nebraska; Nancy Fricke and husband Rick of Hastings, Nebraska; Diane Applegate and husband Jerry of Kearney, Nebraska; and his son Robert Wyatt and fiancé Beth Woerner of Rochester Hills, Michigan; 12 grandchildren Matthew (Janka) Manning, Marcus (Kristen) Manning, Abigail Hanzlik, R.J. (Casey) Rhoads Kyle Wyatt, Nolan Wyatt, Jacque Fricke, Blake Fricke, Amanda Applegate, Adrienne Applegate, Traci Hanks and Rick Vannice; 7 great grandchildren Colin Manning, Caroline, Everett and Lewis Hanzlik, Kelly Fricke, Sammantha and Brooklyn Hanks; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
