Sarah Edith (Mahon) Green, 102, of Harleysville, PA; formerly of Easton, PA entered into rest on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Peter Becker Community.

She was the loving wife of the late S. Raymond Green for 51 years. Edith was born in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania to the late John Mahon and the late Iva (Fry) Mahon.

She graduated from Chambersburg High School, class of 1931. Edith began working for her family’s grocery store business in Shippensburg, PA and later worked as a seamstress in a pants factory in Shippensburg, PA. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-great-grandmother. Edith worked as a clerk for Blue Cross in Harrisburg, PA and then worked as a seamstress for Cinderella Dress Company in Elizabethtown, PA.

She was a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Easton, PA, formerly attended Souderton Mennonite Church and currently attended the Peter Becker Community Chapel.

Edith was an avid reader who enjoyed crocheting, sewing, vegetable and flower gardening and playing card and board games. She also enjoyed trips to Maine, Sunset Beach, NC, and a onetime cross-country road trip with her family from California to Pennsylvania. She loved animals especially her dogs, Pixie and Misty. Edith enjoyed watching the bird especially cardinals.

She was a caring lady who had a very unique sense of humor, was a people person and a faithful follower of Jesus.

Edith is survived by a daughter, Linda Ann Hayden of Souderton, PA; a daughter-in-law, Melba Green of Easton, PA; five grandsons, Michael Green & wife, Debbie of Stroudsburg, PA, Edward Green & wife, Mary of New Oxford, PA, Christopher Hayden & wife, Karen of Harleysville, PA, Jeff Hayden & wife, Wendy of Waco, TX, Keith Hayden & wife, Sharon of Bristow, VA; four granddaughters, Karen Graham & husband, Greg of Easton, PA, Melanie Fogal & husband, Barry of New Boston, NH, Laura Frampton & husband, Charles of Allentown, NJ, April Clemmer & husband, Michael of Harleysville, PA; thirty-one great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Arleen Overcash of Waynesboro, PA.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, S. Raymond Green, Jr. & James Edward Green; a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Green; a son-in-law, Allen Hayden; three sisters, Frieda Heckman, Jane Millhouse, Dolores Witter and three brothers, John "Buck" Arthur Mahon, James Mahon & Paul Mahon.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Peter Becker Community Chapel, 800 Maple Ave, Harleysville, Pennsylvania 19438 where friends may meet with the family from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm.

Burial will take place at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens in Carlisle, PA.
