Ms. Faye Nessmith Wilson, age 72, died Wednesday at her residence under the care of Hospice Savannah. She was born in Statesboro and was a 1962 graduate of Marvin Pittman High School. Faye resided in Brooklet, Georgia for many years and worked for Royden Wear and Cooper-Wiss. She moved to Effingham County in 1981 and then to Savannah in 2006. Faye retired from Gulfstream in 2005 following 23 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith.
Faye was an avid golfer and bowler for many years. She was a member of the Executive Women’s Golf Association and the United States Bowling Congress.
She was a loving and dedicated Mama, Granny and friend.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Bessie Lee Nessmith and Albert Nessmith and a daughter-in-law, Melissa Wilson.
The family will receive visitors on Friday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00am in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
Interment will be in the Corinth-Leefield Cemetery in Brooklet.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, Ga, 31416.
