Tom Jordan (T.J.) Sheffield passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017 one day after his 97th birthday. He was born in Erath County, TX June 26, 1920, the oldest of eight siblings. He was raised in Dallas and attended Sunset High School where he met his wife, Wendelle (Wink) Cooper. They were married for 65 years until her death in 2007. Tom served in the army in the European theater of WWII, returning home a decorated combat veteran earning the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars and three Purple Hearts. They bought a farm in Duncanville and he went to work for Hydrotex Industries in Dallas as a sales manager for the next 43 years. Tom was a tireless community servant, working as a leader with the Lions Club, Boy Scouts, Freemasons, Shriners and a myriad of other service organizations. He also served on the school board of the Duncanville I.S.D. After retiring from Hydrotex, he and Wink started the T BAR W Ranch near Mineola and raised cattle for the next 20 years. He retired from ranching and moved to Hideaway Lake where he continued his community service with Kiwanis International and Hideaway Church. After Wink's passing, Tom married Margret Montgomery. Tom and Margret moved from Hideaway to Meadow Lake Senior Living where they have resided for the past three years. Tom is survived by his wife of eight years, Margret Sheffield of Tyler: two sons, Tommy Sheffield of Duncanville, Carl Sheffield and his wife Dolores of Grapevine
