Dolores Irene Griffin, 59, of 750 Turkey Branch Rd., died Mon day, Feb. 26, 2007. She was a native and lifelong resident of Madison County and a daughter of the late Posey and Datha Slagle Griffin and is also preceded by a brother Loy Griffin.
She was a retired school teacher having taught at Oakley and A. C. Reynolds schools and was a member of Gabriel's Creek Baptist Church where she was the Organist for many years. Delores loved gospel music and taking trips with her family.Surviving is a sister, Florence Ammons of Mars Hill, brothers; James Griffin and wife, Henrietta of Asheville, Claude Griffin and wife, Helen of Mars Hill, nieces; Sandra Holcombe and children, Dana and Michael, Lana Grindstaff and husband Dino and their children, Elizabeth, Andrew and Cassidy, Deana Weaver and husband, Randy and their children, Kari Dolores and Karlee Harris, nephews; Charles Ammons and fiance.
Dianne Sluder and his son, Ryan Ammons and wife Missy, Anthony Griffin and wife Jennifer and their sons, Jordan and Logan, Matthew Griffin and wife Rene and their daughter, Hailey all of whom she loved dearly.
Burial will follow in the Mars Hill Cemetery.
Charles Ammons, Matthew and Anthony Griffin, Dino Grindstaff, Ryan Ammons and Randy Weaver will serve as pallbearers.
