Musician. Born Laurence Lemarr Brasfield in Smithville, Mississippi, he was a country-western artist with his wife Neva Inez Fisher, best known as "Uncle Cyp and Aunt Sap". In the 1920s, he began playing guitar in the country comedy duo touring the country through and also appearing on the Grand Ol Opry which continued into the 1940s. From the 1950s to early 1960s, they were a main stay on ABC-TV's "Ozark Jubilee", appeared on the "Ed Sullivan Show", "The Red Foley Show" and were a touring unit at the Texas State Fair. In 1963, the couple then retired from show business. He died of cancer in Raymondville, Texas at age 91.
