Mr. Christopher Lamar “Chris” Ward, 52, husband of Teri Cantey Ward, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017, from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Mr. Ward was born December 13, 1964, in Kingstree, a son of the late Lajoe George Ward and Virginia “Ginger” Hinson Ward Joye. He was a graduate of Williamsburg Academy and Central Carolina Technical College in Sumter. Chris was an avid outdoorsman; loved to fish and hunt, but believed strongly in the conservation of these natural resources for future generations. He loved Pawleys Island and was a true “Creek Freak”. Chris enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He was an entered apprentice of Kingstree Masonic Lodge # 46AFM and a member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church.
Surviving Mr. Ward, in addition to his wife, Teri C. Ward of Greeleyville, are: a daughter McKenzie Ann (Wyatt) Morris of Kingstree; a son, Lajoe Ward of Andrews; 2 sisters, Bitzie (Herbie) Owens of Kingstree and Laurice Ann Ward of Myrtle Beach; 2 brothers, Rocky (Debbie) Ward of Kingstree and Joey Ward of Pawleys Island; step father, Carl Wilbur Joye of Kingstree; and special friends and family.
Graveside funeral services will be 10 AM Saturday, July 8, 2017, in Williamsburg Cemetery. Chris’s family will receive friends 6 to 8 PM Friday at Williamsburg Funeral Home.
