JOHN EDWARD ALLDREDGE was the son of RUTH LUCILLE BRISTOW (1916-1997) and BELDEN CLAIR ALLDREDGE (1913-1973).

JOHN'S great-grandparents, ALONZO OSCAR ALLDREDGE (1858 - 1920) and ELIZA JANE "LYDE" BOYLAN ALLDREDGE (1858 - 1939) had migrated to Oregon City, OR from their earlier homes in Kansas and Iowa as members of a wagon train captained by A. F. Surfus in 1883. A copy of this journal may be found in the Clackamas County Historical Museum in Oregon City, OR.

His father BELDEN worked for a number of years as a lock operator in Cascade Locks, OR where JOHN grew up, always close to the mighty Columbia River. In his free time he loved fishing and working on organizing and collecting fishing supplies.

Military: U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1971.

JOHN was married three times and his third wife survives him as do two sons, one daughter, and five grandchildren.
