Ethel Louise (Painter) Baker, 88, widow of Robert Lee Baker of Staunton died on Sunday, July 2, 2017 in Fishersville. Mrs. Baker was born on September 7, 1928 in Greenville, a daughter of the late Alexander Thomas, Sr. and Mattie (Cash) Painter.

She retired from Planters Bank where she was a teller. Mrs. Baker was a member of Linden Heights Baptist Church.

Mrs. Baker is survived by six children: Daniel Baker (Carolyn), Gary Baker (Linda), Roger Baker, Debra Baker Warren, Kenneth Baker (Phyllis), and Jeffrey Baker (Sara); 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Lambert; three brothers, Raymond Painter, Fred Painter and A. Thomas Painter, Jr.; and a great-grandson.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 7, 2017 at Linden Heights Baptist Church by Rev. Luke Smith. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.

Honorary pallbearers will be the grandchildren in attendance.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2017 in Henry Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Linden Heights Baptist Church, 371 Linden Drive, Staunton, VA, 24401. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.henryfuneralhome.net.
